"Good Evening Students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
There is no school tomorrow, Monday, September 6th. Students will return to school on Tuesday, September 7th.
Doors will open for all students this week at 7:25am and they may report directly to their classroom. Students wishing to pick up breakfast in our cafeteria will do so before heading to their classroom to eat. Our tardy bell rings at 7:45am each morning. Students arriving late to school must be signed in by a parent at our front door.
The fall fundraiser will continue through this week! We were very encouraged by the amount of participation last week. Please remember no money is collected while selling. Orders are due this Friday, September 10th. Please turn in all order packets to your child’s teacher or our front office.
Our 2021-2022 yearbook is now on sale! Yearbooks cost $25 until September 6th. On Tuesday, September 7th, the price will increase to $30. To order, please visit www.yearbookforever.com.
3rd grade students will take the Beginning of Grade reading test this Thursday, September 9th. This test provides a baseline academic level for our students as they enter 3rd grade and will help us measure growth through the year. Please be sure students get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast and arrive on time Thursday.
Kindergarten families, our students will continue learning colors this week. Help your child have fun by wearing Black on Tuesday, Orange on Wednesday, Pink on Thursday, and White on Friday.
Fall pictures and yearbook photos will take place on Wednesday, September 22nd. Please be on the lookout for an informational flyer coming home soon. Parents, our annual Bethany Fall Festival will take place Saturday, October 9th from 12-6pm. Our PTA needs volunteers each year to make the festival a success. If you are interested in volunteering, please return the interest form that was sent home this past week to your child’s teacher.
Lastly, parents, please help our school stay safe and open for in-person learning by keeping students who are sick, showing symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to COVID at home until you have talked with our school for the safest next steps. Our goal is to work with families so that we can continue to operate, in-person, safely.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!"
