"Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
Virtual learning will continue for all students this week. Please remember, during Virtual Learning, we take daily attendance, assign grades for completed work, and require daily participation. I encourage all parents to stay in touch with your child’s teacher and stay closely connected to our school’s website at bethanyelementary.org and our social media outlets.
Bethany Elementary School will continue serving free breakfast and lunch to any child up to age 18, regardless of their free and reduced meal status, through December 31st. Simply come to our school between 11:30am and 1:00pm, Monday through Friday, to pick up your child’s free lunch and breakfast for the next day.
Beginning Monday, September 21st, Rockingham County Schools will transition to Plan B. Plan B allows for our school to operate at 50% of the building capacity, with students physically attending school. Plan B rosters for our AA / BB schedule were communicated to parents this past week. Our school also released a “Transition to Plan B” video, outlining our daily schedule and cohort expectations. The video was shared through Dojo and can be found on our school website. We encourage all parents to view the video.
AM pick-up and PM drop-off times will be communicated tomorrow for those students using bus transportation. If you do not hear from your child’s bus driver, please contact our Bethany front office for more information.
In order for students to return on Monday, September 21st, parents must complete and sign an attestation form, confirming your commitment to follow our schools safety procedures and help us protect our students and staff. Parents may come by our school on Tuesday from 8am-6pm or Wednesday from 8am-4pm to sign the attestation form. Simply use our front drive-thru circle and school staff will be out to assist you. An attestation form MUST be completed and signed before your child can attend school on September 21st.
Lastly, our school will clearly outline and define new safety procedures put in place this year for students returning to school. Please expect communication this Wednesday through a recorded video message from Mr. Eanes. We truly know that it will take a team effort to operate our school safely as we return and we sincerely thank you in advance for your support.
Have a great evening and we look forward to a great week of school!"
