Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
As you are aware, due to recent COVID19 exposure for staff in our school, we will operate under Plan C through October 21st. This means all students will attend school virtually this week. No students will attend school on campus. The daily schedule for students will be very similar to the one used during our first 5 weeks of school this year. Please remember, during Virtual Learning, we take daily attendance, assign grades for completed work, and require daily participation. We know this situation is difficult for all and trust that our students and parents will do their very best. Our teachers will continually stay in close contact with their students and families and we encourage parents to stay closely connected to our school website and other communication means.
Thankfully, our School Age Child Care program was not impacted by our school closure and will reopen Tuesday, October 13th for full service. Our entire school has been fogged, disinfected and sanitized and we feel that the environment is safe for our School Age Child Care program to operate beginning Tuesday.
School pictures previously scheduled for this week have been postponed. We have rescheduled pictures to Friday, November 13th for our BB Cohort and Monday, November 16th for our AA Cohort. More information will be shared as we approach picture day.
During our school closure, the cafeteria will not be providing meals during the week, this includes drive-ups and meals for virtual students. Graciously, any student or family in need may pick up 5 days of meals at Huntsville Elementary, Monroeton Elementary, Moss Street Elementary, or Reidsville Middle School on Wednesday's between 11:30am and 1:00pm. These meals are free of charge. We are very thankful to our neighboring schools for making this possible.
This Friday, October 16th is a teacher workday. There will be no virtual school, remote work or zoom sessions or students.
Have a great evening and we look forward to a great week of school!"
