Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
Our annual Fall Festival was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out in support of this event. A special thank you to our PTA board, all of the volunteers, and staff members who made this day successful. All Silent Auction items will be processed this week and you will be notified by a PTA board member if you won an item.
Fall Fundraiser items will be delivered this Wednesday, October 13th. We will sort and send home items with students that day. If you know that your child sold an abundance of items, you may pick these items up after dismissal. All fundraiser money is due Friday, October 29th. Thanks again for selling!
Parents, our annual school-wide vision and hearing screens will take place Thursday and Friday this week. If your child has prescription glasses, please be sure they are worn to school on screening days, and every day!
Our Bethany Student Council will host its Annual Blood Drive on Wednesday, October 20th from 1:30-6:00pm in our gym. The American Red Cross is in critical need of blood donors. Your child will be bringing home a gold form tomorrow with information about signing up to give blood. You may sign up for a blood donation appointment online or return the gold form to school with your child to request an appointment. Forms are due back to school by Friday, October 15th. Thank you for supporting our school and community!
Our 2021-2022 yearbook is now on sale! Yearbooks cost $30. To order, please visit www.yearbookforever.com.
Bethany will have an outside Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 10th. If any student has local family members who are Veterans or are active military personnel, please send in the name, address, and relation to student so that we can extend an invitation for them to attend. With safety protocols in place, this event will be by invitation only and closed for the public. Thank you for your help!
Lastly, parents, please continue to help our school stay safe and open for in-person learning by keeping students who are sick, showing symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to COVID at home until you have talked with our school for the safest next steps. Also, if your child has been tested for COVID, please keep them home until results return. We’ve had a great start to this year and that is attributed to your proactive communication with our school. Our goal is to work with families so that we can continue to operate, in-person, safely.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!
