Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week. I would first like to wish all of our Bethany mothers a very special Mother's Day. We hope you enjoy your day and thank you for all of your support. Tennis club continues this Tuesday for 4th grade students. Please remember to bring your tennis shoes and water bottle. If you have questions regarding tennis, please reach out to Ms. Asnip. Bethany Elementary is excited to continue ‘Good Vibes Tuesdays.’ This Tuesday is Happy Hat Day and students are encouraged to wear their favorite hat! CONGRATULATIONS to our Bethany Battle of the Books team for earning 2nd place at Regional Finals yesterday! The competition was tough, but our Bulldogs represented Bethany and Rockingham County Schools extremely well! We are very proud of this team! All library books are due to the media center by this Friday, May 17th. Please help by locating and turning in all books by this date. Parents, Water day is approaching fast! This year’s fun will take place on Friday, May 27th. Many fun activities are planned for our students. As we prepare, we are in need of the following items: pump hand sanitizer, clorox wipes, water hoses and nozzles, canned drinks, bottled water and large car sponges If you are able to donate, please deliver the items to the front office or the gym no later than Friday, May 20th. Bethany Elementary is still enrolling kindergarten students for the 2022-2023 school year. If you have a student that will enter kindergarten next year or know of a family with a kindergarten age student, please call our school at 336-951-2710 or come by our front office to pick up an enrollment packet. This year, Bethany will offer remediation and retesting for students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 who make a Level 2 on the Math EOG, in Grades 4 and 5 who make a Level 2 on the Reading EOG and in Grade 5 who make Level 2 on the Science EOG. The remediation and retesting will take place June 13th-29th. More information will come home individually if your child is able to participate in this opportunity. Retesting will be very important for the success of our students and school! Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!
