"Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
There is no school tomorrow, Monday May 31st as our country observes Memorial Day. Our Bethany family thanks all those that have served in our armed forces. Students will return to school on Tuesday, June 1st. Wednesday, June 2nd is the last day of school. It is an Early Release day and students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.
5th grade graduation is this Tuesday, June 1st, outside on the bus parking lot side of our school. Graduation will begin promptly at 9:00am. Guests attending graduation must present a valid ticket provided by our school at our sign-in table prior to entering. We will begin seating guests at 8:15am. School staff will seat guests in pre-set chairs by the order in which they arrive. Guests will not need to bring their own chairs. All guests should park in our front main lot. We ask that guests please not begin lining up until our morning drive-thru line is complete at 7:45am.
Report cards will be given to students on Wednesday, June 2nd. Any report cards not claimed, will be available for pick up in the front office.
Bethany Elementary will host a drive-thru report card and awards pick up for virtual students on Wednesday, June 2nd from 1:30pm-4pm. Please use our front drive-thru circle for easy service. All virtual students should turn in school issued chromebooks, chargers and hotspots during Wednesday’s drive-thru or by the end of this week.
EOG testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade virtual students will take place on Thursday, June 3rd and Friday, June 4th this week. Students should arrive no later than 8:15am for testing each morning. Breakfast will be served at 8:15am for those interested, at no cost. Parents will be notified once testing is complete each day so their student may be picked up.
Bethany Elementary will be hosting a 6 week Summer Acceleration Academy for students providing remediation in all academic areas. The camp will begin on June 14th and run through the end of July. Transportation and breakfast/lunch will be provided. Final invitations for Summer Acceleration Academy based on EOG performance and End of Year assessments were sent home last week. Please return the bottom portion of the form letting us know of your interest as soon as possible.
Finally, on behalf of the staff at Bethany Elementary School, we want to thank you for your continued support during this challenging school year. We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you all next school year. We also want to wish all of our 5th grade students the best of luck as they move to middle school next year. We appreciate all you have done to make Bethany Elementary a great place, you will be missed.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to a great last week of school."
