Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

There is no school tomorrow, Monday May 30th as our country observes Memorial Day. Our Bethany family thanks all those that have served in our armed forces. Students will return to school on Tuesday, May 31st. Friday, June 3rd is the last day of school. It is an Early Release day and students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.

Parents, our Bark Blast Water Day will be held this Tuesday, May 31st. We ask that students wear shorts and a t-shirt, something that they can get a little wet and dirty in. We also prefer that students wear closed toe water shoes or tennis shoes for safety. Bathing suits are not allowed.

Bethany Elementary’s annual Graduation Walk will take place this Tuesday at 2:00pm. We are excited to welcome past Bulldogs back to campus as they walk the halls of Bethany one last time before graduation! Congratulations to these students!

3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 1st in the gym. 3rd grade awards are at 11:00am, 4th grade awards at 9:30am and 5th grade awards at 8:30am. A courtesy call will be sent to parents on Tuesday, May 31st letting them know if their student will be receiving an award. Parents and guests are invited to attend award celebrations.

Kindergarten and 5th grade Graduation is this Friday, June 3rd. Graduation will take place outside in the bus parking lot and will begin promptly at 8:30am. Parents and guests are invited to our celebration. All parents and guests will need to bring their own chairs for seating. Guests may begin entering the bus parking lot at 7:45am, after our buses have arrived and unloaded. In the event of bad weather, graduation will be moved inside the gym.

Final report cards will be given to students on Friday this week. Any report cards not claimed will be in the front office for pick-up.

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students eligible to take part in remediation and retesting will receive a letter this Tuesday. The remediation and retesting will take place June 13th-29th. Breakfast, lunch and bus transportation will be provided each day for students. I highly encourage all those eligible for retesting to attend remediation and retesting sessions. Please detach and return the bottom portion of the letter indicating whether or not your child will be able to attend as soon as possible.

Pre-Ordered Bethany yearbooks will be passed out to students on Tuesday, May 31st. We have a limited supply of extra yearbooks available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, please visit to reserve yours today. If you are unable to go online, please send in $30 cash or a $30 check made payable to WALSWORTH.

Finally, on behalf of the staff at Bethany Elementary School, we want to thank you for a successful school year. We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you all next school year. We also want to wish all of our 5th grade students the best of luck as they move to middle school next year. We appreciate all you have done to make Bethany Elementary a great place, you will be missed!

Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early on Tuesday morning!
