Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

Doors will open for all students tomorrow at 7:25am and they may report directly to their classroom. Students wishing to pick up breakfast in our cafeteria may do so before heading to their classroom to eat. Our tardy bell rings at 7:45am each morning. Students arriving late to school must be signed in by a parent at our front door.

Parents, students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th will participate in check-in testing this week. Please be sure students get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast and are on time for school each day.

Bethany Elementary is excited to begin ‘Good Vibes Tuesdays.’ Each Tuesday of the month, students and staff will spread good vibes by showing spirit in different ways. This Tuesday, students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports teams attire!

Bethany Elementary will celebrate the 100th day of school on February 9th. To help celebrate, each hallway will collect items for various community charities. The Red hallway will collect items for the Rockingham County Animal Shelter, the Blue hall will collect for the Rockingham Hope Food Drive and the Red hall will collect for Hospice of Rockingham County. Students can begin bringing donations this week! Please see the flyer shared on Dojo for more information.

Attention 5th grade parents! It is time to purchase personal 5th grade ad pages and send in baby pictures for the 2021-2022 Bethany yearbook. For purchasing information and further directions, please see the flyer’s attached to your child’s dojo.

The Rockingham County Board of Education is seeking community input to help shape their search for the next superintendent of Rockingham County Schools. Students, parents and community members are invited to complete a survey found on our RCS District website, www.rock.k12.nc.us. Surveys should be completed by Friday, February 4th.

Lastly, please continue to help our school stay safe by keeping students who are sick, showing symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to COVID at home until you have talked with our school for the safest next steps. Also, if your child has been tested for COVID, please keep them home until results return. If your child tests positive for covid, please keep them at home and notify our school. Our goal is to work with families so that we can continue to operate, in-person, safely.

Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!
