February 13, 2022 - AlertNow Message

Staff,

The AlertNow script below has been recorded for parents, placed on Dojo and emailed to the parent listserv. Please share as you need.

Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week. Bethany Elementary is excited to continue ‘Good Vibes Tuesdays.’ Each Tuesday of the month, students and staff will spread good vibes by showing spirit in different ways. This Tuesday is Tie Dye Day and students are encouraged to wear their best tie dye apparel! Bethany Elementary will celebrate Bus Driver Appreciation Week each day this week. The safe transportation of our students day in and day out is one of the most important jobs at our school. Please join me in celebrating this week by showing appreciation for your child’s bus drivers. Bethany Elementary’s Battle of the Books team will participate in the first round of District preliminary competition this Wednesday. We are very proud of the hard work these students have put in preparing for competition and wish them the best of luck on Wednesday! Attention 5th grade parents! It is time to purchase personal 5th grade ad pages and send in baby pictures for the 2021-2022 Bethany yearbook. For purchasing information and further directions, please see the flyer’s attached to your child’s dojo. Also, 5th Grade Parents, Rockingham County Middle School will host an open house parent night for Bethany Elementary 5th grade families this Wednesday, February 16th beginning at 6pm. We encourage our 5th grade families to take this opportunity to visit Rockingham Middle to see all the wonderful things they have to offer your student next year. Parents, please mark your calendars for Monday, February 28th as our PTA hosts its 3rd quarter meeting. StuffnFun Bears and Usborne Books by Julia will be on site for the PTA meeting! StuffnFun Bears is very similar to Build A Bear and will be funded by the PTA for Bethany students! To learn more about StuffnFun Bears, please visit their Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you! Parents, unfortunately, there will not be a Go Far running club this year for Rockingham County. We at Bethany know our students enjoy participating in this activity! As a result, we are creating our very own walk/run club called the Walk Around Gang. Everyone, including parents, is invited to join us after school to participate. An informational letter will be sent home this week sharing specific details about participation. Lastly, Bethany Elementary will be working with Attractions Fundraising at the end of February selling Attractions books as a school wide fundraiser. We encourage all families to participate. Our goal is to raise money, and partner with PTA, to update and add to our playground facilities for students! Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!
