Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
3rd grade students will participate in Cog-At testing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings this week. Please be sure students get a good night's rest and breakfast before testing.
Parents, the PTA will host its annual Holiday Shop for students this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The shop will be open from 7:45am-2:45am all three days. An informational flyer describing the shop will come home tomorrow. Classes will begin visiting the shop on Tuesday to create their ‘wish lists’ to bring home for parents. Students will be able to purchase items throughout the remainder of the three days.
Parents, please make plans to join us this Thursday, December 16th for our annual Christmas PTA event. Students can enjoy Milk and Cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus beginning at 5pm. Our Bethany Chorus will spread Christmas cheer with two mini concerts for smaller crowd sizes; one at 5:30 and the second at 6:15. We will also collect unwrapped gifts for our Toys 4 Tots Campaign. Please come out and support! Masks will be required for all guests inside our building.
Grade level Christmas parties will take place this week. If you have not received information about dates and times, please reach out to your child’s teacher. This year's school parties are for students only.
This Friday, December 17th is an early release day with students being dismissed at 12:45pm. There will be no school from December 18th thru January 3rd. Students will return to school on January 4th.
Lastly, parents, please continue to help our school stay safe and open for in-person learning by keeping students who are sick, showing symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to COVID at home until you have talked with our school for the safest next steps. Also, if your child has been tested for COVID, please keep them home until results return. Our goal is to work with families so that we can continue to operate, in-person, safely.
From all of us here at Bethany, we hope you and your family have a safe and restful Holiday Season. Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to a great week.
