"Good Evening Bethany students, parents and families. My name is Josh Eanes and I am excited to again serve as your principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Ms. Lauryn Duncan is also returning as our Assistant Principal. The start of the school year is quickly approaching with our first official day of school for students on Monday, August 23rd. We look forward to the start of this new year and will do our very best to operate a safe learning environment for our students that remains open for instruction.
To kick off our new year, we invite all students in grades 1st-5th to Open House on Thursday, August 19th from 3 to 7pm. Students and families will enter through our cafeteria, where school staff will be on hand to help. Class rosters will be available that evening and we encourage you to visit your child’s classroom and meet their new teacher. You will also receive information about bus assignments, various school clubs, our school aged child care opportunity and our very active PTA. Parents, as you come to Open House, we ask that you please limit the number of guests attending with each student to their immediate family. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 19th for Open House.
Kindergarten families, we are very excited to welcome our newest Bulldog’s to Bethany. Please be on the lookout for a letter in the mail this week from our Kindergarten teachers. This letter will provide important back to school information about our Kindergarten only Open House and about your child’s first week staggered day schedule. During the first week of school, each kindergarten student will attend either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for their staggered day. No Kindergarten students will attend on Thursday and ALL kindergarten students will attend on Friday. Again, we look forward to welcoming your families to our school.
Parents, 2020-2021 Bethany yearbooks have arrived. If you ordered a 20-21 Bethany yearbook, you may pick it up at our school any day this week between 8am and 4pm. Simply come to the front door and we'll be happy to help! Any yearbook not picked up will be given out at the beginning of the new school year. Please help us spread the word by telling other Bethany families!
Lastly, the Rockingham County Board of Education meets tomorrow night, August 9th, to discuss and vote on many important safety protocols related to our return to school later this month. After this meeting, our school will be able to provide more clear safety procedures that we will follow. The meeting can be viewed online or in person at our RCS Central Office in Eden.
As we move closer to the start of school, please be on the lookout for more back to school information. Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we can’t wait to see everyone at Open House."
Thanks, Josh Eanes
