"Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with important information about our 2020-2021 Bethany Open House.
All families in grades 1st-5th are invited to a Drive-Thru Meet the Teacher Open House on August 12th & 13th from 3pm-7pm. This is a floating drive thru so families can attend at their convenience. Teachers and staff will be on hand to meet their new students and provide back to school information. As you arrive at Bethany for Open House, please follow the directions of our staff as they guide you through grade level specific stations in our front parking lot.
Kindergarten families are invited to a separate kindergarten only orientation during the week of August 17th through 21st by appointment. Your child’s teacher will reach out to you directly in the coming weeks to schedule an opportunity for each student and two adults to meet their teacher and gain important back to school information. We will follow specific safety procedures for entry into our building and they will be shared with you by your child’s teacher.
Our teachers and staff return to work on Monday, August 10th. Please expect contact from your child’s teacher as we prepare for our first 5 weeks of Virtual Learning. Virtual learning this year will look different than the Emergency Virtual Learning we did last school year. This year we will take daily attendance, assign grades for completed work, and require daily participation. Our teachers are working already to prepare for the new Virtual Classrooms they will welcome our students into in a few short weeks.
To assist students with Virtual Learning, all students (Kindergarten-Fifth grade) will have the option to check out a school Chromebook for at home use. There will be a $30 non-refundable insurance fee for each device taken home. More information will be shared at Open House
Lastly, as we continue to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, please contact our school if your plans have changed and your student will no longer be attending Bethany. We know this year will have unique challenges and ask for your continued support of our teachers and staff as we do our very best to provide an excellent education. If you have questions please don’t hesitate to call our Bethany front office at 951-2710.
Have a great evening and we look forward to seeing you soon!"
