"Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
First, I would like to share a heartfelt thank you to all of our Bethany families for supporting our teachers and staff during our first week of Virtual Learning. While we know this situation is difficult for everyone, we couldn’t be more proud of the positivity shared by our students and parents. Our teachers and staff have been overly encouraged by seeing the smiles of their students each day.
We will continue with virtual learning for all students this week. Please remember, during Virtual Learning, we take daily attendance, assign grades for completed work, and require daily participation. Our teachers are continually working hard to prepare each week and will certainly remain in close contact with their students and families. I encourage all parents to continually stay in touch with your child’s teacher and stay closely connected to our school’s website at bethanyelementary.org and our social media outlets.
At Open House, all parents received back to school paperwork to be completed for each child. Please complete all informational paperwork received and return to Bethany Elementary this week. A box will be placed in our drive-thru lane each day for easy drop off.
Tomorrow is the last day to participate in our beginning of the year Fundraiser. We are selling Bethany Elementary masks and face coverings to help our students and staff show Bethany spirit. For easy purchase, visit our Bethany school website or use the link found on the flyer sent home. The fundraiser will conclude on August 24th.
To assist students with Virtual Learning, all students (Kindergarten-Fifth grade) have the option to check out a school Chromebook for at home use. There is a $30 non-refundable insurance fee for each device. Students needing a device may pick up a Chromebook this week, at their convenience, from 8am-4pm. As students use chromebooks at home, please reach out to your child’s teacher for assistance if needed.
Lastly, Bethany Elementary School will serve as a Virtual Learning feeding site through the end of August. Our school cafeteria will be open August 17th-31st providing free meals to any child up to 18 years of age. Simply come to our school between 11:30am and 1:00pm, Monday through Friday, to pick up your child’s free lunch and breakfast for the next day.
Have a great evening and we look forward to a great week of school!"
