"Good evening Bethany Families. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with an important message and a few announcements for the week.
First, we received information this weekend that there has been a COVID-19 exposure that occurred in our school last week. We have consulted with the health department closely and they have advised us to notify all direct contacts. Anybody that was directly exposed has already been notified and will be following proper quarantine protocols. If you have not received direct notification from our school, your child is not impacted by this exposure. Safety and transparency continue to be priorities for our school and we will work hard to keep parents informed.
Parents, I respectfully ask that you please contact your child’s teacher or our school prior to sending a child to school if they have symptoms, have been tested for COVID, have a family member that has been tested for COVID or have been exposed to COVID. Our school staff will help determine appropriate next steps for attending school safely. We will work with you to be sure your child still attends school virtually without an absence. This step helps ensure our school remains safe and open for students.
Now for a few weekly announcements; Parents we are working hard to keep kids reading! Since we are unable to have an in-person book fair this school year, we are hosting a Scholastic Virtual Book Fair now through April 25th! This is a great opportunity to get books for your home libraries. To shop, please visit our school website, bethanyelementary.org, and click on the “Bethany Virtual Book Fair” link.
5th Grade Parents, graduation pictures will take place this Thursday, April 22nd. 5th grade virtual students wishing to have their graduation picture made may come between 8am and 11am. School staff will meet you at the front door to assist in having your picture taken safely.
Rockingham County School is hosting a “Rock n’ Roll” Drive Thru Literacy Event this Saturday, April 24th at Rockingham County High School and Rockingham County Middle School. The event is from 10am-12pm and for students in grade preK thru 5th Grade. We encourage our families to come out and take part in the fun.
Parents, Fall Fundraiser items were delivered to Bethany this past week. All fundraiser money is due Friday, April 30th. Thanks again for selling!
Bethany Elementary is still enrolling kindergarten students for the 2021-2022 school year. If you have a student that will enter kindergarten next year or know of a family with a kindergarten age student, please call our school at 336-951-2710 or come by our front office to pick up an enrollment packet.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to a great week of school."
