April 17, 2022 - AlertNow Message

Good Evening students and parents. This is Josh Eanes, Principal at Bethany Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

I hope you have all had a restful and relaxing Spring Break. Tomorrow, Monday, April 18th, is a teacher workday. Students will return to their normal schedule on Tuesday, April 19th. Doors will open for students at 7:25am and they may go to breakfast or straight to their classroom. Please remember the tardy bell rings at 7:45am. Any student arriving after 7:45am, must be signed in by a parent.

Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year will begin this week. Children must be age 5 on or before August 31, 2022 to be eligible for kindergarten. Parents will need a birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of residence to register. Students must register at their home school even if they apply for transfer. Bethany has designated this Tuesday, April 19th from 9am-6pm and Wednesday, April 20th from 3pm-6pm as special registration times. Appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome! Please call our Bethany front office to schedule an appointment. We are excited to welcome our newest bulldogs to Bethany and hope you will help share the word in our community.

Tennis club begins this Tuesday, April 19th for 4th grade students. Please remember to bring your tennis shoes and water bottle. If you have questions regarding tennis, please reach out to Ms. Asnip.

Parents, we are excited to have visitors and volunteers in our school as our community support is a big part of our success! To help keep our school safe, please remember that you must have your ID available when signing in. All guests to our building must sign in and receive a visitors badge in the front office before going into our building. Anyone checking out a student must also present their ID to our office personnel.

Transfer applications for the 2022-2023 school year are now available in the Bethany front office, on the District website and at the RCS Central Office. Applications must be submitted by Friday, April 29th. Students currently on transfer will not need to complete a new form this year and will remain enrolled at their current school. Transfer applications are for any new student requesting transfer to a new school next year. More information can be found on the RCS website at www.rock.k12.nc.us under Student Assignment.

Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early Tuesday morning!
